Subject Areas:

In this course, students will:

  • Learn to describe the common anti-convulsant medications used in canines and felines for non-life threatening seizure activity.
  • Critique the current literature to determine if cannabinoids are an acceptable option for epileptic patients.
  • Evaluate the dietary interventions commonly utilized to decrease seizure activity.
  • Determine the impact of seizure precipitating factors in the daily life of an epileptic patient.
  • Discuss complementary therapies utilized to improve the quality of life in seizure patients.
