Subject Areas:

In this course, students will:

  • Be able to identify the similarities and differences between antiviral and other anti-infective drugs.
  • Be able to list the antiviral drugs used for different manifestations of common viral diseases of dogs and cats.
  • Be able to identify the immuno-stimulants that are used in the therapy of viral diseases.
  • Be able to determine whether antiviral interventions can be justified for the therapy of FHV, FIV,FeLV, canine influenza and canine parvovirus.
  • Understand the current unique situation regarding the therapy of FIP in cats in the U.S.A
